The outgoing president Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) Tariq Sadiq said that there was dire need of a dry port in the federal capital to facilitate the traders and industrialists in custom clearance.
Tariq Sadiq said this while inaugurating the camp office of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the under-construction Islamabad dry port.
He said Islamabad dry port is being established on the direction of Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, which was a demand of the business community of the capital city.
He said that all the customs tax recognition would be made through this dry port and railway has already done its booking for Margalla railway station.
He said traders from other areas including Taxila, Hassan Abdal, Attock, Talagang, Peshawar, Haripur, Chakwal, Jehlum, Mirpur, Muzaffarabad, Murree and Abbottabad would also be benefited.
He further said that ICCI has established its office at dry port to facilitate the importers and exporters.
