Punjab government has recovered an amount of Rs 2.4 million through open auction of 136 attractive registration numbers of vehicles for LZY series.
The auction took place at the office of Motor Registering Authority Lahore under the supervision of Director Excise and Taxation Region-C Lahore and Superintendent, Excise and Taxation Department, who represented the Secretary E&T.
Official sources said here on Wednesday that all the 136 attractive registration marks of LZY series were contested and the highest bid of Rs 201,000/- was received for LZY-1. LZY-786 fetched Rs 116,000/- LZY-7 received Rs 106,000/-, LZY-5 was sold at Rs 62,000, LZY-10 was sold at Rs 55,000.
Sources claimed that during the last two years the government had recovered substantial revenue of over 120 million through open auction of attractive registration marks for which credit goes to Secretary Excise & Taxation, Naveed Akram Cheema and DG E&T, Punjab, Shamail Ahmad Khawaja who ensured transparency in the auction process.
