The Institute of Business Management (IBM) and Marketing Association of Pakistan (MAP) on Wednesday announced the launching of an MBA degree programme in Advertising and Communication Management which is the first of its kind in Pakistan.
The programme will equip students with knowledge of advertising in the context of mass media and communications. It will give them deeper understanding of advertising, marketing research and media, and help them develop and execute better media strategies.
The programme will be offered to students on weekends and consists of 24 courses with 75 credit hours. An advisory panel of eminent professionals from the fields of advertising marketing and communications has been formed to overview the entire programme.
The advertising and communications sector is gaining momentum in Pakistan and there is a clear need for the MBAs with the right specialisation in this field. The vision of this MBA programme is to produce the future senior executives and chief executive officers (CEOs) of the advertising and communications sector.
The IBM is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and is the only business school in Pakistan with a full-fledged research programme. It institutes country's first research journal 'Pakistan Business Review' and offers MBA Marketing, Finance and Human Resources.
The MAP, rounded in 1967, is the oldest platform for marketing professionals in Pakistan. It has made a significant contribution towards promoting understanding of the marketing discipline in the country, recognised and acknowledged by the corporate bodies. It is also committed to promote the study of all such branches of knowledge relevant to the profession of marketing.
