PAEC and Italian firm sign MoU

Pakistan in collaboration with an Italian company, ASTER, will jointly design, manufacture and supply thermal seawater distillation plants for domestic and international markets.
An agreement to this effect has been signed between the Italian firm and Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) to build the first plant at Karachi nuclear power complex.
It will be a multi-effect distillation MED-plant of 42 million-gallon capacity per day. The plant will use the steam from Karachi nuclear power plant to provide thermal energy to MED.
