Punjab Agriculture Marketing Company (Pamco) will set up a chain of cold storage in the province to provide better facilities to the growers of different agri-products. A sum of Rs 1.57 billion would be spent on the construction of cold storage in different agriculture markets of the province.
The Pamco has allocated Rs 171 million for development projects during the year 2005-06, said a report on performance of the company. The report stated that the Pamco would make an investment of Rs 4.042 billion in agriculture marketing to boost the production and marketing of the agriculture sector.
The main aim of the Pamco activities is to provide better facilities to farmers and give them better return of their yields, the report reads adding that this would make farmers prosper and improve their living standard besides encouraging them to enhance the production in their farms.
