Sindh High Court Chief Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed said on Sunday that launching of 'Agehi' was a first step to improve efficiency of judicial sector through automation process.
He said this while addressing the launching ceremony of software on 'Case Flow Management', titled 'Agehi', in the District Court, Karachi East.
He said that the software has been launched in one district of the city while other districts would be automated after its success. All necessary measures will be taken to improve the efficiency of the judicial sector, he added.
He urged the Judges of lower courts to get computer education as soon as possible so that they could use computers themselves.
District and Sessions Judge, Karachi East, Zafar Ahmed Khan Sherwani said that by the launching this project, District East had become a model district which has its own website 'Agehi' and the general public would get facility online complaints in respect of their grievances, especially with regard to non-registration of FIRs, high handedness of police in respect of illegal detention.
He said that after installation of this new software the entire court proceedings could be recorded. Through the Website, online monitoring of the courts work by the District Judge as well as by the Honorable High Court was possible.
He said that Local Area Networking connecting, all the workstations of 35 courts with two servers in the Districts (three computers in each court), have been completed, while the entire staff of the courts have been provided training with the help of Sindh Information Technology Department.
He said that all District Judges have been provided training and a database of all pending cases has also been established.
He said that Legal Education, downloading facilities of different important laws and cause lists of all the courts of the district were available on the Web 'Agehi'.
