The European Union has increased the amount of wheat available from Slovak intervention stores for export via tender, its Official Journal said in its latest edition on Monday.
The quantity available was raised by 33,192 tonnes to 147,949 tonnes and would apply immediately, it said. The original volume was 30,000 tonnes, first increased in August.
The Slovak tender is being held in weekly bidding rounds, which opened on July 14 and will end on June 22 next year. Export licences awarded are valid for four months.
For successful bidders exporting Slovak intervention wheat, the EU will pay the lowest transport costs between the place of storage and the shipment point, up to a certain ceiling.
All non-EU countries are eligible as export destinations, apart from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Liechtenstein, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro, and Switzerland, the Journal said.
