Food safety has become a world-wide concern, as each year hundreds of thousands of people throughout the world fall ill as a result of food poising. This was revealed by speakers at a seminar organised by Moody International on 'Food Certification' here on Monday.
They maintained devastating impacts of food-borne illness have been documented not only on lives but on businesses and economies also.
They added 'HACCP' system is the most effective way of managing and controlling food safety hazards in the preparation and handling of food and food products.
Among others, LCCI senior vice-president Abdul Basit, Moody International managing-director Rashid Mehr, George Abi Rached and Anwar Aziz addressed the seminar.-PR
