Pakistan has an energetic and rapid growing population to provide jobs and secure the future in the Information Technology (IT).
"The IT is the one field which brings all industries, services and lifestyle together. It plays a vital role in routine daily schedules from the sending e-mails to the receiving of text messages from banking transactions to security and surveillance systems and from special effects to your car navigation displays all have IT as an integral part of their composition."
These views were shared by Chairman Ziad Bashir and Chief Operating Officer of Arwen Tech Atiq Rehman while announcing achieving of the first Cisco Silver Partners in Pakistan at a press conference here on Tuesday. Arwen Tech is to resell Cisco products in the Middle Eastern region.
Atiq said, "Today, we stand at a point where we, as a nation, must decide to venture forth boldly into the field of IT.
"Pakistan has a young and fast growing population," he said, adding: "It is our duty to our country as the business community to provide them with jobs and careers."
He said: "If we have a small employment rate in our country, we have to promote such areas that can give our young generation a bright future they deserve."
Atiq said the business community had to play the role of investor or venture capitalist and the government should provide the right incentives and investment climate.
On the other hand, education sector had to provide facilities and curriculum to produce high number of professionals required spurning the growth, he added.
Finally, the professionals in return have to provide the industry with ideas. The media had to provide the sector with enough coverage and at the same time gave the country a super positive image, he said and regretted the international media pictured Pakistan image very negatively.
Ziad Bashir said, "We are proud to announce Arwen Tech's accreditation as Pakistan's first Cisco Silver Partner, a status that really gives us a global edge. With Cisco's recognition of our technical support capabilities and in-house networking talent, our customers will be confident about our ability to plan, design and install, maintain, and manage their (Cisco) solutions."
Tarek Ghoul, Regional Channel Manager from Dubai, said that Cisco and Arwen Tech were part of future plans for Pakistan.
