Pakistan High Commission London in addition to Earthquake Information Centre has set up a dedicated Helpline on Sunday for providing information to British Pakistanis about their missing relatives back home as a result of severe earthquake which jolted Pakistan and Azad Kashmir on Saturday.
British Pakistanis who had their dear ones missing back home can contact the High Commission on the telephone numbers which are 07946476616, 07765002332 and 020 7664 9200 which will try to get the relevant information as soon as possible.
Within hours of the natural calamity, the High Commission on Saturday set up Temporary Visa Desks at Heathrow, Birmingham and Manchester airports to facilitate those British Pakistanis who wanted to travel to Pakistan in the wake of the devastating earthquake.
The High Commission sources told APP that country's envoy to London Dr Maleeha Lodhi had directed four Consulates in Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow and Bradford to start 24 hours emergency visa service to provide urgent visa to British Pakistanis intending to fly out to Pakistan to either be with their relatives in this hour of trial or to attend the funeral of those killed by the earthquake which measured 7.6 at the Richter Scale.
Meanwhile the Government of Pakistan has established a "Prime Minister Relief Cell" in Islamabad for inquiries. Its telephone number is 0092-51-9222666.
Contributions for disaster relief can be sent to the "President of Pakistan Relief Fund" through any bank in Pakistan or any branch of United, National Bank or Habib, Allied Bank Limited UK. Electronic transfers can be made through United National Bank at NATWEST Account No 123 00001, Sort Code 60-91-70.
