Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) will send its teams of doctors along with paramedical staff and medicines to help earthquake-stricken people in Mansehra, Balakot and Rawalakot. The decision to send teams of doctors was taken at a high-level meeting, chaired by Secretary Health Syed Anwar Mahmood at Pims here on Monday.
The medical teams carrying medicines, biscuits and dry milk will set up base camp in Muzaffarabad and attend the patients in the affected areas. The meeting was informed that a team of 20 doctors is arriving in Pims from Jhang. They will be assigned various duties in the hospital.
The representatives of WHO informed that France has offered to send a team of 40 medical doctors to help earthquake victims.
The secretary welcomed this goodwill gesture and said these doctors would be deployed in accordance with our requirement in the affected areas.
