Renowned poet and literary figure Shanul Haq Haqqee, aged 88, passed away on Tuesday in Canada. He was suffering from cancer for last one year. He translated many books into Urdu. He also worked for Pakistan Television. He was living in Canada for many years.
He leaves behind five sons and a daughter and would be buried in Canada.
Shanul Haq Haqqee was decorated with Tamgah-e-Quaid-e-Azam and Tamgah-e-Khidmat by the government of Pakistan in recognition of his contribution to literature.
