Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed his condolences and sorrow over loss of lives and destruction in the weekend's earthquake in a message addressed to President General Pervez Musharraf.
"It is with deep regret that I learned about the severe earthquake which occurred in Pakistan on October 8, 2005, and led to such a grievous loss of lives and mass destruction", he said.
Offering condolences, he said: "Please accept my profound condolences on this tragic event and pass my words of sympathy and sorrow to relatives of those who perished."
