Umar Farooq, an experienced grade-21 officer of the Customs & Excise Group has been appointed as new Director General Large Taxpayers Unit (LTU), Lahore.
Umar has worked on a number of prestigious posts during his illustrious career. In education he did his Masters in English, secured Gold Medal by standing first in the examination.
He is also Bachelor in laws from Punjab University. Besides attending a number of professional courses, the senior civil servant took training in Tax administration from Institution of Tax Administration, Los Angeles USA.
Umar has the profile and capability to lead the recently operational LTU, Lahore, which aims at providing quality service to the top taxpayers and promoting compliance with tax laws.
