The Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) is taking numerous measures to contribute towards the national crusade to help the victims of devastating earthquake in the country, said SCCI's acting President Faisal Mehmood Khan.
Taking to Business Recorder here on Tuesday afternoon, Faisal Khan on behalf of the business community of Sialkot expressed deep sorrow and grief over the colossal loss of precious lives and property due to the earthquake in different parts of the country.
He said local business community had decided to donate maximum donations amounting to Rs 10 million while medicines and edibles would also be donated for the earthquake victims.
He said the SCCI was making hectic efforts for collecting maximum donations and other relief goods for the earthquake victims at earliest possible.
Faisal Khan said that many businessmen had collected clothes, blankets and sweater etc, on voluntarily basis for sharing the miseries of earthquake victims.
Meanwhile, many religious and social organisations had set up camps for the collection of donations, articles of daily use, cloths for the earthquake-hit people.
