Earthquake has destroyed roads and other communication system in Balakot and its adjoining areas, and volunteers have been facing difficulties to carry out relief activities due to rainfalls, said Edhi Foundation sources.
A statement issued here on Tuesday evening said consecutive shocks of earthquake had already disturbed road communications in Balakot and its vicinities and rainfalls had also been creating more problems for volunteers in continuing their relief activities to help quake victims.
The statement further said some 60 ambulances of Edhi Foundation had shifted total 290 seriously injured people from earthquake hit areas to Mansehra, Abbottabad Civil hospitals and to Rawalpindi, Islamabad.
It added some 36 ambulances of Edhi Foundation had shifted total 296 injured people from earthquake hit areas to different hospitals of Rawalpindi.
Statement also said Edhi relief operation team number two was busy in relief operation in Muzaffarabad and they had set up a relief camp in Muzaffarabad Football Stadium where victims were being provided cooked food items.
The Foundation has also sent total 20 ambulances from Islamabad to Muzaffarabad to provide more assistance for quake victims.
Edhi Foundation has appealed to the people that services of Orthopaedic surgeons were immediately required in quake hit areas.
