Judiciary contributes one-day salary

Pakistan Judiciary, including judges and staff of courts have decided to contribute one-day salary towards the President Relief Fund established for providing relief to the earthquake victims.
The decision was taken following the consultation by Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry with the Chief Justice, Federal Shariat Court and Chief Justices of High Courts, said a press release on Thursday.
It was decided that the judges of Supreme Court, Federal Shariat Court, high courts and subordinate courts and staff of all such courts, Law and Justice Commission and Federal Judicial Academy would contribute one-day salary towards the President Relief Fund.
The Courts and their staff at the individual and local level are also engaged in collecting contribution, goods and material for distribution among the victims.
