Suzuki Motor Corporation and its two overseas subsidiaries in Pakistan, namely Pak Suzuki Motor Company Limited, involved in production and distribution of Suzuki automobiles and Suzuki Motorcycles Pakistan Limited involved in production and distribution of Suzuki motorcycles have donated Rs 10 million (Approximately US $168,000) towards the "Relief Fund for Earthquake victims".
This includes cash donation of Rs 5 million and donations of automobiles and motorcycles to assist in the relief operations of the Government of Pakistan.
T. Ishikawa, Director (Production Control) of Pak Suzuki Motor Company handed over the cash donation cheque on behalf of Suzuki group to Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, on October 12th, 2005 at the Prime Minister House.
Major Sagheer Ahmed (Retd), Director (Human Resource), Pak Suzuki Motor Company Limited and Midhat Kidwai, Chairman, Suzuki Motorcycles Pakistan Limited were also present on this occasion.
In addition the management, staff and workers of Pak Suzuki Motor Company also contributed their one day salary towards the "Relief Fund for Earthquake victims" and arranged three truckloads of blankets and medicines which are dispatched for the people in the disaster effected areas.
The Prime Minister appreciated the donation of the Suzuki group and the employees, at this critical time in the history of country.-PR
