Nokia has made an immediate donation of euro 100,000 to help those affected by the devastating earthquake that struck the country on Saturday.
In announcing the delivery of the cash donation to the Edhi Foundation, Adel Hattab, Director, Mobile Entry Solutions, Nokia, Pakistan said, "We offer our deepest sympathies to all those affected by this tragedy.
Every employee at Nokia feels for those who have experienced any loss.
The situation we have seen over the last couple of days was greatly shocking, and each of us should do whatever we can do for quake victims.
As an early phase response, the sum will be used to provide relief to those most in need."
Nokia has 120 employees in Pakistan, almost all of them are Pakistani nationals.
Walid Moneimne, Senior Vice President, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Nokia Networks, in a statement said, "We at Nokia have a deep commitment to the country and will do everything in our command to help this nation recover. In the days, weeks and months to come, Nokia will work with the Edhi Foundation and the government authorities to help rebuilding in a variety of ways."
