Justice Mehmood Akhtar Shabbir of Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed the office to fix all the miscellaneous and amended petitions filed against increase in petroleum prices.
The court passed these directions during the course of proceedings in a petition filed by M.D. Tahir who contended before the court that he had filed a number of miscellaneous petitions against increase in petroleum prices, but the respondent LHC officials instead of fixing them before the court, returned back without any reason.
The court after hearing the petitioner advised him to submit the said petitions again and directed the office to fix the same before the court.
The petitioner had challenged increase in petroleum price and prayed to the court to declare the same as illegal and without lawful authority.
He also prayed to the court to direct the respondent government not to increase the petroleum prices till the disposal of main petition.
