More organisations announce donations

Several more public and private sector organisations have announced contributions in the relief fund for earthquake victims in the northern areas of Pakistan.
American Express has donated $100,000 to the Red Crescent and Red Cross organisations for relief to the earthquake victims. The bank employees have contributed their one-day salary amounting to Rs 900,000.
SSGC: Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) has stepped up its efforts and increased its contribution towards the earthquake relief effort launched by the company immediately after the disaster struck the northern areas of the country on October 8.
The total cash contribution made by the company towards the President's Relief Fund has thus been increased to Rs 2.5 million out of which the employees have contributed Rs 5 million.
The family members of SSGC employees have also donated Rs 565,000 in cash so far and corporate partners of the company have donated goods worth Rs 725,000 in response to the appeal made by SSGC Managing Director Munawwar Baseer Ahmed.
The SSGC has also dispatched relief goods worth Rs 7.6 million in two separate consignments, parts of which was airlifted and the rest sent by trucks. Nearly 14,000kg foodstuff, 100 water-proof tents, 500 blankets and 200 rugs were included in these consignments. The total contribution of the SSGC and its corporate partners towards the relief efforts has so far reached Rs 34 million and further efforts are underway.
Beaconhouse School System: Beaconhouse School System has contributed Rs 10 million towards the President's Relief Fund.
Hinopak Motors: Hinopak has assigned nine trucks of relief goods for the earthquake victims. The consignment consisted of 150 tents, 1,400 foam mattresses, 1,600 blankets and other essential items.
Bank Alfalah: Various organisations operating under the banner of Abu Dhabi Group, had announced a donation of Rs 220 million, of which a major portion was contributed by its flagship unit, Bank Alfalah Limited, besides Warid Telecom Pakistan and Warid International, Abu Dhabi.
In a message of sympathy, Bank Alfalah Limited Founder Chairman Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan has expressed his profound grief at the catastrophic earthquake that hit the northern areas of Pakistan.
Aero Asia: On behalf of the staff, the management and board of directors of Aero Asia International, Chairman Muhammad Yaqoob Tabani has announced contribution of one-day salary of all employees posted within and outside Pakistan towards the President's Relief Fund for earthquake victims.
Besides, Aero Asia has also provided free-of-cost two-way travelling to more than 225 doctors of different medical institutions with equal number of paramedical staff and more than 2,500kg of medicines and other pharmaceutical products were also airlifted.
Etihad Airways: A number of flights of Etihad Airways have departed from Abu Dhabi to Karachi since last Thursday and have transported more than 39 tonnes of humanitarian aid collected from the Pakistan Embassy.
Emirates Sky Cargo: Emirates Sky Cargo dispatched three of its freighters, fully loaded to aid Pakistan's massive relief efforts. An Emirates Sky Cargo Boeing 747-400 Freighter was re-routed from its commercial services to carry 14 urgently required vehicles - three Nissan Patrols, one Nissan Xtrail and 10 Nissan Double Cab Pick-ups - on behalf of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies located at the Jabel Ali Free Zone.
Karachi University: Karachi University has contributed Rs 2 million to the President's Relief Fund for earthquake victims. This amount included one-day salary of all the teaching staff, officers and employees of the university.
