In order to facilitate the transportation of relief goods to the affected areas by road at standardised rates, the Secretary District Regional Transport Authority Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal has issued rate lists of truck fares for the convenience of general public through mutual consultation with the local Truck Owner Association.
According to the details, fare of mini truck for Rawalpindi/Islamabad would be Rs 8000/-, for Murree it would be Rs 10,000/- while the mini truck fare for Azad Kashmir and NWFP affected areas would be Rs 12,000/- only.
Similarly, the fare of Bedford truck for Rawalpindi/Islamabad would be Rs 9000/-, for Murree it would be Rs 11,000/- while the Bedford Truck fare for Azad Kashmir and NWFP affected areas would be Rs 14,000/- only.
Meanwhile the Secretary DRTA has established a Control Room in his office for the convenience of the general public and organisations involved in sending relief goods to the calamity hit areas. This Control Room will be operational from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm in two shifts.
Secretary DRTA Chaudhry Iqbal has informed the public that they could contact the Control Room on Phone No 9200223 for information, guidance and prompt disposal of complaints, if any, with regard to transportation of goods to the affected areas
