As many as 18 Pakistani companies successfully exhibited at Anuga 2005 food event, mainly for staple food, frozen food, dairy products, confectionery, dry fruit, held in Cologne, Germany from October 8 to 12, 2005.
The fair was an opportunity to establish new business contacts and conduct business with companies from every corner of the world, a spokesman for the liaison office for Koelnmesse GmbH in Pakistan said here on Friday.
There were 6,294 companies from 108 countries, which exhibited at Anuga. Nearly 83 percent of the exhibitors came from abroad, including Pakistan, occupying a gross exhibition space of 286,000 square meters, he added. There were around 161,000 visitors from some 160 countries.
He further stated that the exhibitors appreciated the quality and decision-making credentials of the visitors. Overall, the exhibitors at Anuga 2005 said they expect good post-fair business, he claimed.
Furthermore, he pointed out, there was a slight increase in the number of visitors from EU countries, however, the number of buyers from Eastern European countries rose significantly.
The next Anuga will be held from October 13 to 17, 2007 in Koelnmesse's new exhibition hall.
