The President Pervez Musharraf's Taamir-e-Karachi Programme will give a new look to sprawling city of Karachi. One of the mega projects of T.K.P. is in progress at a satisfactory pace under W & S Department C.D.G.K; bridge over Malir River connecting Shah Faisal Colony and Korangi is a marvellous project of T.K.P. It is a 1350-metre long bridge joining Shah Faisal Colony to Korangi.
It has two wonderful approach roads; one is 625-metre long from Shama Centre to Shah Faisal Colony P.S. upto the main bridge, and the other measures 2898 metres from Singer Chowrangi, K.I.A. Road 8000.
It runs though Awami Colony and Gulshan-e-Millat, Korangi Road 13000 and links with Malir River Bund No 2. The total cost of this bridge is Rs 1 132.894 million and it will be completed within 730 days.
This bridge will open a new horizon of progress, not only for Landhi and Korangi, but also for North Karachi and beyond. It will save millions of rupees spent on fuel and help in conserving physical and mental energy.
It will increase the output of the industrial zones of Landhi and Korangi. We hope that this project will be completed well before the estimated time, ie 1-6-2007.
