Besides government hospitals, private hospitals would also be taking an active part in providing medical treatment to the injured being shifted to Faisalabad from the quake-hit areas.
Most of the private hospitals here would also provide free medicines and food to the patients besides treatment. It is expected that the injured would be shifted from the affected areas through C-130 flights to Faisalabad within next 24 hours.
This was disclosed in a meeting with the managements of the local private hospitals with DCO Athar Hussain Khan Sial and City District Nazim Rana Zahid Tauseef, which, among others, was also attended by EDO (Health) Dr Umar Farooq Khan, senior administrative officer Liaqat Ali Chatha, and D.O. (Co-ordination) Malik Muhammad Aslam.
Lauding the sense of responsibility and spirit of service displayed by the private hospitals, the DCO said that by offering their service at this time of crises, they were on the fore-front in sharing the miseries and pains of the earth quake victims in this hour of trial.
He said that it was a matter of great honour and privilege for us that instead of having to go to our affected brethren for helping them we were getting an opportunity of serving them in our own city. He said that by the Grace of Allah the people of Faisalabad would leave no stone unturned in serving, caring and looking after them.
On this occasion it was decided that Suraiya Majeed Hospital would make arrangements for the free treatment, medicines and food for fifty patients while Shafi Hospital would manage facilities of free treatment, medicines and food for 75 patients, Faisal Hospital for 20 patients, Ghulam Fatima Karim Hospital for 10 patients, Mujahid Hospital for 20 patients, Dar-ul-Sehat Hospital for 30 patients, Sahil Hospital for 20 patients, Mian Muhamamd Trust Hospital for 10 patients and National Hospital would provide free treatment, medicines and food for 20 patients.
In addition to it Allah Rakhi Trust Hospital would provide free treatment to 100 patients, Khadija Trust Hospital would provide free treatment and medicines to 150 patients and Rathore Hospital would provide free treatment facilities to 10 patients.
The DCO informed the Managements of Private Hospitals that EDO (Health) Dr Umar Farooq Khan will function as the Co-ordination Officer of the district government for the purpose of treatment and look after of the patients received from the calamity hit areas.
He asked the executives of the Private Hospitals to provide complete and detailed information regarding the departments, facilities, machinery and specialist doctors available with them to the EDO Health so that these resources could tapped when required.
City District Nazim Rana Zahid Tauseef said that arrangements for free treatment, medicines, food and their other requirements would be made with the help of people. He said that people here had displayed an exemplary commitment, dedication, zeal and spirit in collecting and sending relief goods to the affected areas. Now they will display a still greater enthusiasm in looking after their guests coming from the affected areas and will console them with care and affection.
The meeting was informed that the injured would be shifted from the affected areas through C-130 flights to Faisalabad. The arrival of the first batch of such patients was expected within next 24 hours and due notice would be given to the administration, all hospitals and others concerned in this regard so as to facilitate them with discharging their responsibilities in a smooth and effective manner.
