Well-known artist and social worker Jimmy Engineer is organising an awareness programme for the special children here next month to highlight their cause.
In a statement received here on Saturday he said that the special children from special education centres and institutions in the provincial metropolis would be invited to participate in the programme. The invited special children will perform tableaus of their choice and demonstrate their artistic potentials and skills.
He said such awareness creating programmes are necessary to be organised frequently to bring the talent and skills of the special children to the fore and help them assimilate in the mainstream of the general society like other normal children. Jimmy Engineer said a lot of good works is being done for the special children by various special education institutions.
He said by organising such a programme in the city for the first time, he is trying to make his contributions towards creating awareness about the special children who need our special attention.
He said the awareness programme for the special children is being held with the collaboration of the management of Avari Hotel.
Jimmy Engineer said he has held meeting with the top management personnel of Avari Hotel to discuss various aspects of the programme to which some 300 special children are going to be invited. Jimmy Engineer said he has organised about 90 programmes for the special children in Karachi for the last more than four years since September 2001.-PR
