The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), Rawalpindi, has recorded the statement of investigation officer, Inspector Chaudhry Riaz, in the suicide attack case on Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, and adjourned the hearing till November 8.
According to details, the Anti-Terrorism Court No 2 Judge Safdar Hussain Malik resumed the hearing of the suicide case and recorded the statement of the investigation officer. The accused were brought from the Adiala Jail for hearing.
The defence counsel of the accused held by police for conspiring the suicide case against then-finance minister, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, during his election campaign, would cross examine the investigation officer on next hearing.
The accused were brought from the Adiala Jail under strict security, and presented in the court.
It may be recalled that then-finance minister, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, was attacked by two suicide bombers when he was coming out of the public meeting during his election campaign for National Assembly.
Seven persons, including suicide bomber Irfan die in the attack, while 25 others injured. Shaukat Aziz remained unhurt in the incident.
