Sindh Education and Literacy Minister Dr Hamida Khuhro dispelling impression created by some elements having vested interests that Education Department has held the language Act 1972 in abeyance said Sindhi along with Urdu would be taught at all levels up to intermediate in the province.
Talking to a private TV channel here on Sunday, Dr Hamida Khuhro said under this Act, Urdu Salees (Simple) for Sindh-speaking and Sindhi Salees for Urdu-speaking students was being taught at all levels and only teaching of Sindhi salees at college level had remained in abeyance for 32 years.
"Recently, the matter was revised by Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad and now Sindh Chief Minister has taken decision that in class XI also Sindhi salees will be taught to Urdu-speaking students" she clarified.
