The government with the assistance of growers will set up modern machinery of irrigation technology in agriculture land to meet the water shortage.
Gujranwala Agriculture District Officer Chaudhry Shaukat Ali stated this while talking to APP here on Tuesday.
He said that Pakistan Council for Research in Water Resources had started a survey in this connection and under the recommendations of the surveyors the machines would be installed in the fields.
The council would provide technical assistance and necessary equipment, while growers would contribute labour cost to complete the project, he added.
Chaudhry Shaukat said that under the project committees comprising farmers and experts would be set in order to provide maintenance facility and looking after all the arrangements.
