Founder Chairman of All Pakistan Bedsheet & Up-holstery Manufacturers Association (APBUMA) Syed Muhammad Qasim Shah has emphasised the need for the establishment of a cottage industrial zone in Multan with the help of private sector to promote handloom industry, carpet, hosiery and embroidery.
In a Press statement, Syed Qasim shah said that he had approached the federal finance minister, Punjab chief minister to take interest in the early establishment of the zone.
"Japan, China and many other countries have established cottage industries to provide strong base for industrial development with great success," he said, adding that speedy development of these countries was only due to industrialisation and encouragement to entrepreneurs.
He also requested the president and the prime minister to direct provincial governments to select suitable land for the establishment of industrial zones in all the districts.
