City Nazim decided that no road would be constructed without drainage because in the absence of quality drains and sagging lines the roads does not last longer and every now and then these are reconstructed due to stagnant sewerage and rainwater.
Till wee hours of the morning, Mustafa Kamal inspected the under-construction roads in Orangi and said all projects should be completed in co-ordination with the town administration.
He said no project will be conceived one way and consultation of the respective Town Nazims will be essential and also the opinion of people residing there.
The City Nazim visited various parts of the town and also spoke to residents about their problems.
During the visit the City Nazim inspected Shahrah Qadafi from Qasba More to German School, Gulshan-e-Bahar, Manghopir Road from Pirabad to Sarhad petrol Pump, Banaras Chowk to Toori Bangash Chowk and Shahrah Orangi and was briefed about the details of constructed projects.
The DCO Karachi Fazlur Rehman and Town Nazims were also present on the occasion.
During visit to Shahrah Orangi Mustafa Kamal was informed that this 6.5 km road is being constructed at a cost of Rs 170 million. He was informed that 50 percent work has been completed and the remaining work is delayed due to the shifting of 129 electricity poles.
