The construction work on institute of cardiology at Faisalabad is gradually in progress. Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi has sanctioned Rs 693.304 million for this project where ultra modern and hi-tech facilities will be provided for the treatment of complicated cardiac ailments.
According to a buildings department spokesman, Rs 266.073 million have been earmarked for the construction of the main building while a doctors' hostel with Rs 30.369 million and a nursing hostel with Rs 24.482 million will also be constructed.
An additional amount of Rs 39.508 million has also been earmarked to provide passenger as well as bed lifts in the institute, the spokesman said.
He said the institute would also have an electric substation in addition to a standby generator to ensure continuous and uninterrupted power supply. Funds of Rs 65 million had also been provided for the purpose, he added.
He said Rs 34.841 million had been provided for external sewerage and water supply. An overhead water tank of 5000-gallon capacity would also be constructed with an estimated cost of Rs 13.637 million.
