Turkish embassy in Islamabad has cancelled the Turkish national day reception, which was to be held on November 12. The reception has been cancelled as a sign of respect for the victims of October 8th earthquake and to express sorrow and affection to the people of Pakistan.
It also aims at manifesting solidarity in this hour of national grief, which has also shaken the hearts of Turkish people.
The Turkish embassy has also postponed the other functions, including exhibition of photographs of Turkish photographer Ibrahim Uysal scheduled on November 12, commemoration of Ataturk and Jinnah day, including two musical events by Istanbul Chamber Orchestra - scheduled for November 18 and 19, Selin Gulun Jazz trio concert December 6 and 7, Opera evenings, Istanbul State Opera and President of Turkey polo cup.
