Large numbers of faithful attended the Friday Prayers and prayed for the relief and succour of the quake-affected in the country as also for the safety of the whole nation in view of continued aftershocks that are being felt frequently.
The Khatibs and Imams in their sermons at all the mosques prayed for those who lost their lives in the October 8 tragedy and urged all those present to live frugally and avoid ostentatiousness.
Many Khatibs and Imams maintained that the earthquake was a test for the nation and it must stand united in seeking divine forgiveness of its sins and divine grace to move forward with greater determination.
Most sermons lauded the readiness of the people to contribute generously for the welfare of the quake victims and urged that this gesture to help must continue in view of the immensity of the tragedy and the need for massive aid by the affectees.
