The LCCI-Wapda Dispute Resolving Committee on Friday pledged to solve all the issues and problems facing the business community amicably. The meeting, which was jointly chaired by the Lesco chief Akram Arian and LCCI president Mian Shafqat Ali, also decided to encourage out-of-court settlements of all the disputed cases.
DG Customer Services Ikram Somroo, director commercial Chaudhry Mohammad Qasim, former LCCI vice-president Mohammad Ali Mian, and renowned businessman Nadir Kamal Usman also attended the meeting.
As many as two disputes were presented before the committee and after listening to both the parties, decision of one case was announced immediately while the other case was kept pending for want of further discussion.
Speaking on the occasion, LCCI president Mian Shafqat Ali urged all the chamber members to avail this opportunity and bring all their disputes with the Lesco to the committee for a decision without any further delay as for the economic well-being of any country business-related issues could not be kept pending for a long time.
Mian Shafqat Ali said that the committee was activated only to facilitate those businessmen who are in dispute with the Lesco. He also thanked the Wapda chairman for taking initiative for the timely decision of all the disputed cases.
Lesco chief Akram Arien assured the LCCI president his full co-operation in getting all the disputes resolved amicably. He said: "The Lesco gives priority to all the business-related issues and it would continue to adopt same methodology."
He said that the Lesco was well aware of importance of smooth supply of electricity to the industry to meet its production as well as export targets and it would leave no stone unturned to help the industrial sector in this regard.
Former LCCI vice-president Mohammad Ali Mian also thanked the Lesco chief for keeping a continuous liaison with the LCCI.
