Karachi's Hockey Community gathered more than Rs 2 million for October 8 earthquake victims in a fund raiser programme held here on Sunday at Hockey Club Lawns. The fund-generating programme was held as a replacement of fund-raiser match earlier scheduled to be held on October 30.
The fund of more than Rs 2 million gathered included Rs 1 million which was donated by Aqeel Karim Dhedi, a prominent businessman of the city.
Sindh Sports Minister Qamar Mansoor, former hockey greats Islahuddin, Hasan Sardar, Samiullah, Nasir Ali, Iftiqar Syed, Muhammad Shafiq and other Olympians of past and present attended the programme.
