Lakki Marwat District Nazim, Humayun Saifullah Khan has assured that a link road from new Gambila Bridge to Indus Highway would be constructed to reduce distance and facilitate people of villages located along Gambila River.
He was talking to a delegation from villages situated along the bank-sides of Gambila River, who called on him at his office in Lakki Marwat on Sunday.
He said he would soon approach provincial government for allocating funds for such vital project concerning development of Lakki city.
However, he said district government would implement the plan at any cost and lack of funds would not be made hurdle in launching practical work on it.
Humayun said Gambila Bridge was nearing to completion with cost of Rs 70 million that was result of his hectic efforts to get it approved and complete in his previous tenure.
He recalled construction of this bridge was long standing demand of people of the area that was then seeing light of the day while he would leave no stone unturned to keep pace of development in all sectors of life with vigour.
He agreed with members of the delegation that construction of link road would help in ameliorating lot of poor masses especially farming community living in Lakki city as well villages on other sides of Gambila and Kurram rivers.
He said the project would prove backbone in economy of the district; and health, education, water supply, sanitation and transportation facilities would be improved considerably benefiting thousands of population of the villages.
He assured solution of the rest of their problems.
The delegation thanked the district nazim for giving them patient hearing and taking keen interest in overall development of the area.
