Federal Information Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed in meeting with press here on Sunday has termed opening of Line of Control (LoC) from five places as a right step that would result in solution of issue of Kashmir in the long-run.
Deploring recent bomb explosions in India, the Federal Information Minister unequivocally rejected that Pakistan was not involved in such acts. He asked Indian media not to cast doubt or apprehensions about Pakistan on these explosions.
Replying to a query on holding of all parties conference (APC), he said it was duty of the government to invite all in this conference. "It is time of tragedy and not of politics," he added.
Stating that time of politics would come in 2007 where every body would be free to participate, the Minister asked all the opposition parties to unite in collective effort for aid relief to earthquake-hit people in the best interest of the nation.
Denying an accusation of Qazi Hussain Ahmed, head of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) of creating hurdles in their relief efforts by stopping their relief, he said aid was moving unstopped and nobody took such measure to stop aid inflow.
Replying to a question about Nato army involvement in earthquake relief operations, he said President Musharraf would himself touch the subject in a press conference.
The Federal Minister appealed to overseas Pakistanis to come forward with full zeal and spirit to help their tremor-affected brothers in catastrophe. The Federal Minister appreciating the effort of Pakistan army in earthquake relief operations said they had done great duty in that respect. Talking about participation of the NWFP Chief Minister in the National Security Council meeting, he said it was correct decision on his part.
The Minister said that with opening of roads in Jhelum and Kaghan Valley in next 24 hours improvement would accrue in relief operations in earthquake-hit areas, he added.
