Pakistan preferred left-arm paceman Junaid Khan, who made his debut against Zimbabwe last month, over the much experienced Wahab Riaz.
Sri Lanka also followed the same pattern, giving Nuwan Pradeep his Test debut with Rangana Herath as the only spinner.
