The Karachi Port handled 178,907 tonnes of cargo including 155,156 tonnes import and 23,751 tonnes export cargo including 603 containers during last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday.
The cargo comprised of 107,840 tonnes dry cargo including 71,820 tonnes general cargo; 6,875 tonnes sugar; 23,234 tonnes fertiliser; 2,411 tonnes rice; 3,500 tonnes coal and 71,067 tonnes oil/Liquid cargo.
Twelve ships namely Sinar Bontang, Sagamore, Adhidaya, Conti Esperance, Corinthiakos, Kota Mesra, Al Marwah, Global Tianjin, Maersk Alaska, Darya shakti, Pearl and capetan Lefteris sailed out to sea during the report period.
Eight vessels viz MT Swat, Maersk Alaska, Chem Leo, Chitral, Yangtze River, Bodar, Bunga Delima and United Prosperity are currently at the berths.
Four ships namely Bunga Delima, Nanaking, MT Swat and United Prosperity expected to sail on Monday, while another ship Iran Yamin is expected to sail on Tuesday.
Three vessels viz MMM Kingston, Thor Captain and Paige due to arrive on Monday, while seven ships namely Yanaseni, Oriental Kerria, Hanjin Busan, Apl Jeddah, Kota Tampan, Sea Beta and Iran Kordestan are due to arrive on Tuesday.
The cargo comprised of 4,329 tonnes wheat, 5,000 tonnes chemicals and 440 tonnes sugar.
Chemicals carrier Al Marwah is expected to sail on Monday.
A total of three vessels viz Evropi, Olympic Spirit and Ynaseni are currently at the outer anchorage.
Five ships namely CV Sealand Freedom, MT Chem Lily, Evropi, Olympic Spirit and Ynaseni due to take berths on Monday.
Two vessels viz MT Anette Kosan and Global Pallas due to arrive on Tuesday, while another container ship Nedlloyd Cobra is due to arrive on Wednesday.
