A cold front that brought heavy rains to Brazil's main coffee belt will push into the forested regions of Minas Gerais and Espirito Santo, the two main producer states, independent meteorologists Somar predicted Monday.
After getting drenched over the weekend, Parana and Sao Paulo state producers will begin to see drier weather, with more isolated showers over the next five days.
But Somar said a new wave of rains would return from November 5 to 9 to Parana, Sao Paulo, south Minas Gerais and the Cerrado coffee regions.
Most of Minas, the No 1 producer state, will continue to see strong rains on Monday that should diminish through the week, Somar projected.
Parana farms got 53 millimeters of rain over the weekend, while Sao Paulo got 22 mm to 33 mm. The Cerrado got 24 mm while the southern Minas region got 20 mm to 26 mm.
