PPPP has asked whether Nato forces would stay in Pakistan for 90 days like General Zia-ul-Haq's 90 days and other military adventurists and said that when Nato forces can be allowed to serve for the rehabilitation of quake-hit people and reconstruction of destructed towns why can Benazir Bhutto and Mian Nawaz Sharif be abstained from serving their country fellows.
Addressing a joint press conference here on Wednesday Khurshid Ahmed Khan, city president PPP, Salim-ur-Rehman Mayo, central chief organiser of Asif Ali Zardari committee, Begum Zubaida Khokhar provincial chief organiser, and Mehboob Joiya provincial chief Human Rights Forum (HRF) Punjab demanded for providing details of donations given by the Pakistanis at home and abroad plus foreign aid because Prime Minister and President were making controversial statements regarding the aid.
PPPP suggested to accommodate the quake-hit people in educational institutions, rest houses and government departments buildings located in safer towns because tentage villages were merely wastage of funds and these could bear the burden of snow-fall.
They held the government responsible for the casualties at large scale because immediate relief work could not be initiated in affected areas and thousands of people died under the debris.
They said that PPPP would celebrate the Eid with sobriety in simple manners. Khurshid Ahmed Khan said that PPPP chairman Makhdoom Amin Faheem has given the surety to the rulers that Benazir Bhutto wanted to comeback Pakistan to serve the quake-hit people. Government should let her come back home. They demanded for an immediate release of Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani and Makhdoom Javed Hashmi so that they could celebrate the Eid with their families.
