Soft red winter wheat futures at the Chicago Board of Trade were lower early on Wednesday amid a sag in corn and soy and overall good crop weather in the US winter wheat belt, traders said.
At 10:16 am CST (1616 GMT), wheat was down 1 to 2-1/4 cents per bushel, with December down 1-1/4 at $3.15-3/4 per bushel.
There was a bearish sentiment overshadowing the wheat market amid a lagging export pace and generally satisfactory crop weather in the US winter wheat belt.
Overnight export business featured South Korea buying 20,000 tonnes of US wheat.
