The District Nazim Hyderabad, Kanwar Naveed Jamil, has called upon the government and non-government organisations specially engaged in environment protection assignments to come forward and join the hands of district government to make Hyderabad a neat and clean district.
This he emphasised while launching awareness campaign here the other day at Union Council No 6 Hyderabad to boost up cleanliness drive in the district.
The district Nazim launched the awareness campaign by distributing informative pamphlets among the people of the Union Council personally.
He said that district government Hyderabad was giving top priority to the public participation in each social as well as development works to ensure sustainability and added that the public awareness was very much essential to achieve this goal.
He said that non-government organisations (NGOs) working in isolation for the protection of environment through cleanliness or other means could not be succeeded until and unless an integrated strategy of all stakeholders were not implemented.
He said that the district government Hyderabad being a big government organisation of the district having solid waste management, with considerable manpower has now launched the cleanliness drive, subsequently these organisations should contribute to achieve common objective.
He said that each government as well as non-government organisations (NGOs) has to play its role for the welfare of the people.
He said that this cleanliness drive would not only create healthy atmosphere in the city but also reduce the health bill of people.
He said that the district government, TMA and Union Councils concerned have put their all resources in this campaign and now it is the duty of people to make it more success by extending their full co-operation.
He said that all the TMAs have been asked to distribute informative handbills, leaflets and pamphlets to project the objective and participatory role of the people for maintaining cleanliness.
He advised the people that instead of throwing garbage in to streets, roads or drainage lines, they should use the dustbin of their area.
He also advised them to get their drainage lines cleared to avoid over flow on roads.
