South Africa completed a 4-0 series win when they beat New Zealand by six wickets in a rain-hit fifth and final one-day international at Centurion Park on Sunday.
All-rounder Andrew Hall, captain Graeme Smith and wicketkeeper Mark Boucher were mainly responsible for South Africa's victory, which stretched their unbeaten streak in one-day internationals to 19 matches.
South Africa were 105 for two in 19 overs in reply to New Zealand's 215 all out. Another over is needed to be bowled to reach the minimum number for a result to be achieved.
A storm, which had been threatening since the start of the South African innings, broke over the ground minutes after the umpires took the players off the field as it became obvious that a heavy downpour, accompanied by lightning, was imminent.
South Africa were well ahead on the Duckworth/Lewis calculations for rain-affected games. With two wickets down they needed 71 runs after 20 overs.
But the interruption meant the home side had to hope the storm blew over. South Africa lead the series 3-0. The fourth match in Durban Friday was abandoned because of rain.
South African captain Graeme Smith made an aggressive 66 off 65 balls to put South Africa well ahead of the required run rate.
Earlier, all-rounder Andrew Hall produced career-best figures as New Zealand failed to take advantage of a promising position.
New Zealand, who were scoring at better than six runs an over early in their innings, were bowled out for 215 after being sent in.
Hall, in his first bowling stint of the series, took four for 23, while wicketkeeper Mark Boucher, playing in his 200th one-day international, equalled the South African record by holding five catches.
Boucher also threw down the stumps at the bowler's end to run out Daniel Vettori.
Nathan Astle (37) and Lou Vincent (66) shared a rain-interrupted second wicket stand of 75 but swing bowler Charl Langeveldt took two wickets when play resumed before Hall started his destructive spell.
The match started in overcast conditions after heavy rain Saturday and a light shower early Sunday.
