Singapore bunker prices were lower on Monday but bunker premiums held steady at above $6 a tonne amid thin activity, traders said.
Prices for 380-centistoke (cst) bunker fuel were pegged at $301-$303 a tonne, down $4 from the previous trading day, with the bunker premium - the differential between bunker prices and fuel oil cargo values - steady at $6.75.
"The bunker premium has held there for the last 3-4 trading days, indicating that the market is still firm at above average levels of $3-$4," a Singapore-based trader said.
"I think it will hover around $5-$7 a tonne for the rest of the week but there could be some pressure after that as the arriving November cargoes hit the market."
