The Samsung Electronics, the digital and electronics appliances manufacturing company, has announced a contribution of $500,000 to alleviate the sufferings of the victims of the earthquake and towards the President's Relief Fund.
Samsung Country Manager Sang Suk Roh and Marketing Manager Shahid Khan called on Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz in Islamabad on Monday to express their condolences over the death and destruction caused by the earthquake.
While handing over the cheque of $300,000 to Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, Sang Suk Roh said: "We are deeply saddened by the devastation caused by the earthquake and the Samsung will always be with the government of Pakistan and we are committed to helping the relief efforts with financial support, time and services."
Shahid Khan said that besides this monetary contribution, the Samsung will also transfer $200,000 worth of relief goods for the victims of this massive and destructive earthquake. The Samsung will transfer relief goods that the cabinet committee has mentioned are in dire need in affected areas, he added.-PR
