Doctors of Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (Pima) are providing treatment to more than 2000 patients daily in their field hospitals in Muzaffarabad, Balakot and Bagh.
This was stated by Pima representatives at a reception hosted for Dr Hasab-ur-Rasool, DG, Administration, of Islamic Medical Association of Sudan at a hotel here on Tuesday evening.
Dr Misbah-ul Aziz, President of Pima, Karachi, Vice President Dr Sohail Akhtar, Incharge Pima Relief Work Dr Babar Saeed Khan and others were also present on this occasion.
Dr Babar said that Pima has established three field hospitals in Muzaffarabad, Bagh and Balakot and more than 100 doctors and paramedics are working in these hospitals.
He said that the association has sent medical equipment worth over Rs 5 million and it has distributed medicines costing another Rs 5 million in the earthquake affected areas.
Dr Sohail Akhtar said that Pima is working with other NGOs and its relief operation would continue for the next 6 months.
Dr Hasab-ur-Rasool said that the Sudan government has sent a 4-member doctors' team with 200 tons medicines and food items in 4 aircraft for the earthquake victims.
