Pakistan Foreign Secretary Riaz Mohammad Khan met Bangladeshi Foreign Secretary Hemayetuddin on Wednesday here at the Bangladeshi Foreign Office and discussed the Saarc matters and bilateral relations. Hemayetuddin condoled on loss of life and damage in the devastating earthquake in Azad Kashmir and Frontier Province.
He said people of Bangladesh sympathised with the people of Pakistan and were ready to extend all possible assistance. He confirmed Bangladesh's ministerial level participation in the donors' conference being held in Islamabad on November 19.
Foreign Secretary Riaz thanked his Bangladeshi counterpart and stated that Pakistan was deeply moved by the spontaneous sympathy and support by the people and government of Bangladesh. The Bangladeshi Foreign Secretary expressed gratitude to Pakistan for its forthright support to Bangladesh in holding the Saarc Summit.
The two Foreign Secretaries expressed satisfaction at the progress in bilateral relations and decided that further efforts would be made to take follow-up actions on the decision of the Joint Commission held in Islamabad in August 2005.
