A delegation under the leadership of former education minister of Turkey and ex-director general Overseas Education and Chairman Private Schools Association Aysel Aytac on Friday called on Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim and expressed desire to set up non-commercial and non-profitable educational institutions in Karachi.
The chief minister listened to their scheme, already functional in Islamabad and Lahore, and expressed his happiness assuring that required land will be provided.
During the meeting, Dr Arbab lauded the efforts of Turkey in assisting the earthquake victims and said that the brother country had helped in letter and spirit.
Federal Minister Makhdoom Faisal Saleh Hayat, Sindh Education Minister Dr Hamida Khuhro, Director General Pak-Turkish International Irfan Canan, Adam Akged and Haji Mustafa Haji were also present on the occasion.
The chief minister said that emergency relief operation launched by the International CAG Educational Foundation including supply of tents, distribution of food items, blankets, lighting equipment, bedding and medical assistance were noteworthy.
Earlier, the head of delegation presented detailed report of activities of the foundation and highlighted aspects of the project.
He said that after Islamabad and Lahore they wanted to establish educational institution in Karachi on non-commercial basis. He said that the institute would cater to latest needs of education.
